The online shopping giant Amazon opened its first physical store in Seattle, Washington in early 2017. Its called Amazon Go.
With Amazon Go, you can walk into the store, pick out the items you want, and then leave without having to check out. All you have to do is download the Amazon Go app, which connects to your Amazon account. The store is able to detect which products are being taken or returned to shelves, and when you walk out of the store, Amazon charges the products you have with you to your Amazon account and sends you a receipt afterward.
Amazon Go works because of a combination of artificial intelligence (AI), computer vision, and sensor data, which are all similar to the technology used in self-driving cars. Amazon had been working on this type of technology for a few years, but the first indication that it would be used for a store was in 2015, when the company talked about cameras and sensors being used to identify shoppers and the things they’re buying.
Right now, the Amazon Go technology isnt finished, and theres just the one store. However, Amazon has plans to open up to 2,000 more Amazon Go stores across the US. They also plan to open similar drive-thru style stores, and even an Ikea-like warehouse.

If you’ve ever traveled to another part of the world, you’ve probably experienced jet lag. When you pass into a different time zone, your body gets confused. You may feel like sleeping, even though its only 2 p.m. in the place you’re in. This can lead to tiredness, headaches, and even depression.
Drug companies have spent years trying to figure out a cure for jet lag with limited success. There are some options available that can help fight the symptoms of jet lag, but theres no miracle cure.

If you’re having trouble staying awake during the day because of jet lag, you can try taking medications that will make you more alert. These types of drugs were developed to help people who work midnight shifts adjust to regular hours. People who travel often for business also use them to fend off the tiredness caused by jet lag.
A more common problem associated with jet lag, though, is not being able to fall asleep at night. For these situations, many travelers turn to sleeping pills. These work fast, and won’t make someone too drowsy the next morning. However, sleeping pills usually only work for a few hours, which isn’t enough for a restful night’s sleep.
