（一）動詞的種類
1.有受詞的動詞，為「及物動詞」：S+Vt +O
沒受詞的動詞，為「不及物動詞」：S+Vi（不及物動詞若要加受詞，需用介系詞）：S+Vi+介+O
2.有補語的動詞，為「不完全動詞」；無補語的動詞，為「完全動詞」。
（二）五大句型
1.主詞 + 完全不及物動詞
S + Vi
例：Birds fly.
2.主詞 + 不完全不及物動詞 +（主詞）補語
S + Vi + S.C 例：He looks happy.
3.主詞 + 完全及物動詞 + 受詞
S + Vt + O 例：I love you.
4.主詞+授與動詞+間接受詞(人) +直接受詞(物)
S + V + I.O. +
D.O 例：She gave me a present. = She gave a present to me.
5.主詞+不完全及物動詞+受詞+（受詞）補語
S + V + O +O.C 例：I made him happy.
