The Best and Worst Countries to Live In

The Best and Worst Countries to Live In
Which countries in the world are the best and worst to live in? Every year, Legatum Institute in the UK rates 142 countries in the world. The institute considers 89 factors. Some of the most important ones include economy, health, safety, and environment.

You may not be surprised that in 2015, seven out of the top-10 countries were in Europe. Norway came in first place for the seventh year in a row. According to many surveys, the people of Norway are very satisfied with their country and enjoy a high level of personal freedom. Also, university in Norway is free! Other European countries on the top-10 list were Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden, Holland, Finland, and Ireland. The three non-European countries to make the list were New Zealand, Canada, and Australia.

At the bottom end of the list, the Central African Republic was rated the worst country to live in. It is extremely poor, and many people there lack clean drinking water. What’s more, there has been a civil war going on for years. Five more countries in Africa are also in the bottom-10, including Angola, Sudan, Congo, Burundi, and Chad. A new country in the bottom-10 this year was Syria, with its ISIS problems making it very dangerous. Yemen, Haiti, and Afghanistan were also in the bottom-10.

If you are curious where Taiwan sits, we are #21!
