字詞搭配

find/gather/pluck up the courage ( + to V)　鼓起勇氣         (做某事) ‧Roger finally found ________________________ ask Tina out.   Roger終於鼓起勇氣邀Tina出去。

[1-2] I had planned this day for such a long time!

such為前位限定詞，後面可接可數或不可數名詞，用來加強語氣和強調程度。例：

此外，such也可搭配that子句，表示「事情的結果」。例：

3 4	整場電影我們都安靜地坐著。不過，我可以感受到我們之間逐漸增溫。我既興奮又緊張。今晚是我把友情昇華成愛情的機會！當我們離開戲院時，我採取行動了。我抓住她的手臂、從我的袋子裡拿出一朵紅玫瑰、然後說：「我真的很喜歡你，莎莉！」她沒有回應，不過在走之前拿走了那朵玫瑰。我想她是太害羞而無法表達她的情感。當她離開時，我大喊：「寶貝，盡快打電話給我！」我今晚欣喜若狂。我辦到了！

由於此句的前後主詞一致，因此可將副詞子句before she walked away改成分詞構句before walking away。

too...to... 表示「太……而無法……」。例：

just as/when… 表示「正當……時」。例：
