PHRASES

→ 此句型的意思是「太……而無法……」，雖然句型中沒有not或no這類的否定字，但句型本身即帶有否定意味，表示無法做到to V這個動作。如果要表示「對某對象來說，太……而無法……」的對象時，可在不定詞前方加上for sb / sth，寫為too Adj / Adv + for sb / sth + to V。

例：John has become too ill to work.

John病得太重而無法工作。

Mark walks too fast for me to catch up.

Mark走得太快而讓我無法跟上。

It was too interesting to ignore. A cartoon*([kAr`tun] n. [C] 卡通) basketball player was holding the ball as confidently as Kobe Bryant. Larry clicked ([klIk] vi. 點擊)* on the picture, and it turned out to be a game. He shot the basketball. Nice shot!
