在此修飾「人」(his wife),故使用形容詞的狀態。

示發生的時間點在主要子句的動作

我們可以運用一些方式自我保護。首先,我們必須對自己張貼在網路上的東西小心謹慎。我們一將某物放上網或只是傳送一封電子郵件,其他人就可以看到並且到處傳送。第二,我們必須謹慎選擇密碼,絕不透漏讓他人知道。假如我們的密碼是「123456」或是「abc123」,那麼這樣偷窺狂就很容易猜到密碼。最後但同樣重要的是,我們應該在不同的網站設不一樣的密碼。如此一來,如果某人竊取我們其中一組密碼,這樣我們所有的個資也不會全處於危險中。

4­2 If our password is 123456 or....
這是直說語氣的條件子句用法,表示假設的情況有可能發生,因此句子的動詞要用現在式。
3 In this way, if someone...be at risk.
(1) in this way = therefore = thus = as a
result,表示「如此一來」之意。例:
Ill meet Tina tonight. In this way, we
can talk about our reports then.
(2) at risk表示「有危險,冒風險」之意。例:
The superstar has tried his best to stop
the rumors for fear that his popularity will be at risk.
現今,人們的私生活比以前更公開。我們必須要小心,這樣才不會向偷窺狂透露太多的個人資料。

此為Adj­er/more Adj + than ever/before的用法,表示「比以前更……」。例:
