Exercise In A Pill
There is good news for patients suffering from heart or lung diseases. A research team from Duke University is producing a pill to help strengthen muscle cells of those who cannot exercise due to their physical conditions. The researchers created a group of mice with genes that overproduce a protein called CaMK. When this protein begins working, it can combine with other proteins to change muscle cells. They hope this pill will be used both by patients and by people who are too ill to include exercise routines into their schedules.
